Canada eliminated the penny in February and now the 17 European nations that use the euro are considering doing the same…what happens to all of the pennies when countries no longer count their monetary value?
Answers vary, from pennies will just fade away to pennies will be hoarded in jars by casual collectors or pennies will be melted for their metal value. Or maybe they will be used only in art like “Lucky Penny Art” by artist Michael Worthington.
